The deep sea covers over 60% of the Earth's surface, less than 1% has been scientifically studied. There is a growing pressure on the deep-sea resources and researchers to provide information on biodiversity and the effects of anthropogenic impacts on deep-sea ecosystems. Although scientific knowledge has increased dramatically in recent decades, there are major gaps in global coverage of the deep sea sampling, and major efforts are still focused on offshore research.

Biological sampling in the deep sea is the first comprehensive collection of methods for sampling of deep-sea habitat range. It addresses the real-life application of the current, and in some cases the development of tools and methods of sampling of deep-sea. the authors were able to use the experience of those in the mine when creating this book ?? deep-sea sampling, expansion of existing methodological texts while covering the level of technical detail often omitted from journal publications. Ultimately, this book will promote international consistency in sampling and data collection approaches, to facilitate the integration of information in the global database, as well as contribute to the improvement of data analysis and hence the absorption of the results of science to management and conservation of deep-sea environment.

The book will appeal to readers, including students, early in his career to experienced researchers as well as environmental protection managers and policy makers who want to understand how deep is digitized, the problems associated with deep exploration work, and the type of information which can be obtained.
