Addressing the gap in research Shelley, Jessica K. Quillin explores the poet's lifelong interest in music. Quillin connects music trope with larger formal aesthetic, political and philosophical problems Shelley, showing that music offers a new critical lens through which to view such familiar Shelleyan issues as the status of poetry, figural language, as well as the philosophical problem posed by idealism on compared with skepticism. The book reveals Quillin on the implications of Shelley music using four MUSICO-poetic problems: inherently interdisciplinary nature of musical imagery and figurative language; rhythmic and sonoric dimensions of poetry; expansion performative poetry in the areas of theater and living through a close relationship between the majority and the poetic genres of music; and the transformation of poetry into music through the adjustment and adaptation of the poetic lyrics to the music. Ultimately, Quillin says Shelley demonstrates a fundamental recognition of the interdependence between music and poetry, which is expressed in the form and content of his work is very sonorous. Equating music with love allows him to create a radical model in which poetry is the highest form of figurative expression, one that can affect the mind and senses simultaneously, and potentially lead to self-improvement of mankind through a unique mode of visionary experience.
