On the basis of in-depth interviews with tribal sheikhs involved in the awakening and their US military counterparts, opposing al-Qaeda is to study the processes of decision-making and political psychology of the Sunni Awakening in Al-Anbar. It tracks changes in US military strategy that made Awakening cooperation between Sunni tribes and US forces N possible. This explains the evolution of tribal leaders’ in the long term, and US military strategy led to the defeat of Al Qaeda in Al-Anbar. The process of changing mutual images in detail, as well as cooperation between the two groups led to further evolution of perception. Political and military realities have forced them urgently perceptual and social identity initially shifts, but the process of cooperation and collaboration, these changes have accelerated through a mutually beneficial co-operation and collaboration in the battle against al-Qaida in Iraq.
