Entrepreneurialism and tourism in modern Vietnam explores the intersection of business and the tourism industry in modern Vietnam, and uses examples from the tourism operators in Ho Chi Minh City, to understand the consequences of market reforms on Vietnam’s society. The main argument made in this study is that in order to understand the changes in Vietnam's economy, it is necessary to adopt an approach that combines “cultural” from “economic.” In the tourism case studies presented here, together show that there is no simple analytical distinction between the cultural and economic aspects of the Vietnamese tourism industry. The empirical material is mainly taken from an interview with private tour operators and participant observation on trips. This book also addresses cooperation between the private sector and the Government of Viet Nam in the tourism industry. These entrepreneurial coordinative relations between the two unlikely Bedfellows formed interpersonal exchanges, which make cultural and tourist economy. Finally, there is a link between business, tourism and other case studies in urban Southeast Asia, illustrated in custody.
