European national football gathered in the summer of 2012 in the 14 th time. This book aims to explore the immortal social tensions between supporters and authorities, as well as those between local, national and European identity, which formed the backdrop for the 14th staging European football tournament, the National EURO2012. The context of the tournament was somewhat unique from those raised in previous years, being organized jointly by the first two post-communist countries are still in the process of socio-economic transformation. In this connection, the decision to stage the Euro 2012 in Poland and Ukraine wore their own material and symbolic heritage, forming the tournament: Alarm neoliberal dreams and unpredictable # 8216; East West # 8217; concerns about the poor infrastructure, inefficiency and corruption pushed a moral panic about racism and fears surrounding the potential unfulfilled consumer expectations of Western supporters. The book is aimed at the study of the ideology and practice, caused by competing national feelings and explore the social tension, uncertainty and generating social capital potentials of surrounding national, European identity, in relation to the national football teams, fans and supporters of movements. This book was published in a special issue of football and society.
