This book will help to correct some of the trends of insufficient contextualization of knowledge, technology and teaching practices and the transfer from one option to another in other programs and the development of transport. While countries such as Kenya have ambitions to develop their transport systems to fit into a globalized transport system, they also have to plan transportation for everyday life in urban and rural areas. The service is a matatu, provided by private carriers, it can be seen as a mirror of life in Kenya, showing how indigenous African entrepreneurship and capitalism straddles various economic, political and social systems. This book offers a phenomenological analysis and placed the matatu business in the political economy of Kenya and its rootedness in society. Having a social science approach, this book highlights a number of political, social and practical issues to demonstrate the matatu not decontextualized, disembodied and lifeless piece of metal moving transportation of people and goods, but rather part of a self-organizing industry, its own logic of practice.
